Sanjai Jalaj

Dr. Sanjai Jalaj completed a fellowship in corneal disease and refractive surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute. His number one desire is to provide the highest quality vision possible utilizing both the most cutting edge and most tried-and-true techniques. He has advanced training in the latest methods for diagnosing and treating corneal and refractive issues.

Prior to his fellowship training, Dr. Jalaj completed his ophthalmology residency at Columbia University where he served as chief resident. He also received training in minimally invasive glaucoma procedures to preserve vision and reduce the need for expensive eye drops, intravitreal injections to treat diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration, and oculoplastic surgery for droopy eyelids and wrinkles.

Dr. Jalaj has also shown an interest in giving back and advancing the field of ophthalmology. He is published in numerous medical textbooks and journals, has lectured and taught surgical training courses around the country, is an active member of the state, local, and national medical organizations, and has volunteered his time and expertise to both local and international communities.

Prior to his ophthalmology residency, Dr. Jalaj received his medical doctorate from Georgetown University School of Medicine where he received the Warwick Evans Award for outstanding achievement as a medical student. He received his bachelor of arts in classical studies from Duke University. After so many years of schooling and training around the country, Dr. Jalaj is thrilled to return to New Jersey where he was born. Outside of work, Dr. Jalaj is a professional and collegiate sports fanatic who still occasionally finds time to get on the basketball and tennis courts himself. He also loves tinkering on older cars, cooking Indian and Italian food, and traveling the world to discover new street food.
